Support during Covid-19 and beyond

The West of England has a rich history of innovation, and it will continue to be an important driver of economic development, producing new sources of productivity and growth for the region, the UK and beyond. We’re proud of our internationally recognised R&D centres and academic institutions, and the pioneering businesses that start up, scale-up and succeed here.  Following the Covid-19 outbreak, we’re working to ensure our region remains a thriving, successful and innovative place for the future.

As part of the West of England Combined Authority, (WECA) we are working with partners, key business leaders and Central Government to drive the economic recovery of the region. Our regional strategy will be led by the West of England Economic Recovery Board, a partnership between the West of England Combined Authority, the Local Enterprise Partnership, business, universities and the region’s councils.

The Economic Recovery Board’s business support measures will be shaped by a number of industry sector groups, and will help the region to adapt to the new economic landscape and increase resilience. This forms part of WECA’s wider strategy to drive innovation, increase workforce skills and develop physical and digital infrastructure to support regional recovery.

During the current Covid-19 pandemic Invest Bristol & Bath remains open. Our team are here to support businesses interested in expanding, relocating or trading in the West of England.
