Bristol Airport is a 20-minute drive from Bristol city centre. From Bristol Airport, you can travel to over 100 destinations across throughout the UK, Europe, the US, Canada and Africa. Destinations include Amsterdam, Paris, Cancún, and Orlando. Heathrow Airport is also less than two hours away.
Besides its excellent airport connections, Bristol features the UK’s most central deep-sea port, with 67% of the UK population within 250 kilometres of it.
The region has excellent links with the rest of the UK:
Bristol and Bath are connected by an 11-minute train journey.
The two cities are also easy to get around by walking or cycling, and are linked by the Bristol and Bath Railway Path, a 13-mile off-road path.
The West of England has committed to net zero carbon by 2030 and is investing in sustainable, reliable and innovative public transport network. With a £2 billion investment into rail infrastructure, the ambitious MetroWest programme will revolutionise the rail network. A majority of First’s fleet is low-emission, with 99 bio-methane buses in the area – reducing emissions by up to 85%.
Bristol is also the UK’s first cycling city, with planned investment into walking and cycling routes focussed on 30 local high streets and 55 continuous cycle routes. Additionally, a £90m investment in ‘Future Transport Zones’ has been made. This will drive low-carbon innovation by providing testing facilities for futuristic clean technologies and investing in smart technology, such as driverless cars.
