Invest Bristol & Bath champions West of England at UK Fintech Week

Invest Bristol & Bath (IBB) played a key role in UK Fintech Week, showcasing the West of England as a leading fintech hub. The team engaged with global stakeholders at the Global Fintech Forum, Innovate Finance Global Summit, and the Brazil-UK Fintech Forum - building connections with international networks, Department for Business and Trade teams in the UK and their 30 overseas posts and high-growth firms based in our region like Pismo, Loqbox and Moneyhub. This opportunity was used to strengthen ties with global investors and is now following up with new leads and potential inward investors.

As part of UK Fintech Week, IBB led a high-profile regional showcase in partnership with the Department for Business and Trade (DBT), welcoming an international delegation of fintech leaders to the West of England, aimed at building new connections and exploring partnership opportunities.

Held at Brunel's SS Great Britain, the event highlighted the region’s thriving fintech ecosystem to over 90 delegates from across North America, Latin America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia Pacific. With support from Fintech West, IBB curated a programme featuring national and regional speakers including representatives from the London Stock Exchange, Innovate Finance, Hargreaves Lansdown, NatWest and Bath Building Society. During the visit, Valentina de Micheli from Invest Bristol & Bath showcased the region’s strengths across sectors such as aerospace, robotics, life sciences, and AI, and highlighted the tailored support available to national and international companies looking to establish or expand in the area.
